Member Jennifer Kunzman, who has chaired the committee for the annual picnic for the past two years, suggested that trash cans be placed around the clubhouse area to collect recyclable cans, which can be returned to recover the deposit on them. Jennifer has made arrangements with three Canby-area businesses to return the cans, and will pass the money along to CRGC's treasurer, Doug Phaneuf, who will deposit the money in the club's bank account and reserve it to pay for part of the cost of the annual picnic. The board of directors approved the effort, and encourages members to deposit their recyclable cans in the containers labelled for them. Jennifer will periodically collect the cans and take them to be returned and recycled.
