Police Department Range Usage

Friday, 13 February 2004

CRGC now has formal range use agreements with the several police departments which occasionally use CRGC's ranges for training purposes.  These range users are:  Canby, Clackamas County Sheriff, Clackamas County Sheriff's Posse, Gladstone, Milwaukie, Molalla, and West Linn.  The police departments usually use the western 50 yard range, but sometimes both 50 yard ranges are in use.  The 100 yard range is used very infrequently by the police.  While the police are using a range, their range safety officer has control of the use of that range.

Usage of the range by police departments is scheduled on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of the week.  There might be a police department using a range on a Friday, but that is an exception to the scheduling policy.  The schedule of police range usage is kept up to date in the calendar on this web site, including the scheduled time of use, and which ranges have been requested.  The schedule of days of use, but not ranges or times, is also included in the club's newsletter, but that is accurate as of the date of printing, and the web site should be checked for any changes to the printed schedule.
