Fall Trap League, 2004

Shotgun chairman Chuck McClaugherty has outlined the shooting activities for the four week Fall Trap League which is due to start on Tuesday, September 7, 2004.  The Fall League, which is half the duration of the Spring Trap League, is intended to be a different series of trap games which will challenge the standard practise shooters, and which will be fun to shoot.  There are no team sponsors required (although your team may have a sponsor if you wish), and there will be no jackpots or other payouts.  The following are the four events that each team will rotate through during the League shooting:

• Report.  Report will be shot on a Continental trap using one round per target (Continental ordinarily allows two shots at a single target), from the 21 yard line.  In report shooting all shooters must be prepared to fire in sequence after the first target.  The first shooter calls for the target, and as soon as the shotgun is fired, the next target is pulled for the second shooter, and so on until all five shooters have shot at their targets.  In report, if there are no malfunctions, it may take as little as 6 seconds for 5 targets, or as long as 12 to 15 seconds.
• Off hand.  The off hand round will be standard trap shot from the 16 yard line.  In the off hand round, right-handed shooters must shoot left-handed, and left-handed shooters must shoot right-handed.
• Continental doubles.  Continental doubles will be shot from the 18 yard line of trap #1.
• Chair shoot.  In the chair shoot, each shooter will shoot Continental trap from the 27 yard line while sitting in a chair.
