Basic Pistol - Safety and Self Defense Class

CRGC will offer four free handgun safety classes, two each day, on Saturday, 28 January 2006, and Saturday, 4 February 2006, at the club.  These four classes will be taught by Officer Cory Roberts and Officer Tracy Chamberlin of the Portland Police Bureau.  Officers Roberts and Chamberlin are both CRGC members, and are the lead firearm instructors for the Portland Police Bureau’s Training Division.  The classes and schedules are:

WOMEN ONLY CLASSES, Saturday, 1/28/06

8:00 AM 12:00 PM Any pistol
1:00 PM 5:00 PM Any pistol

MIXED CLASSES, Saturday, 2/4/06

8:00 AM 12:00 PM Revolver only
1:00 PM 5:00 PM Semi-auto only

Classes will start with instruction in the clubhouse, and then will move to the range for drills and live fire.  Coffee will be available at the clubhouse.

These classes will stress firearm and handgun safety (the four cardinal firearm safety rules, safety at home, and range safety), marksmanship fundamentals (the five fundamentals of marksmanship and shot placement), and reloading and malfunction drills.

These classes qualify for the handgun safety course required by ORS 166.291(1)(f)(C) for the Oregon concealed handgun license.

The classes will be limited to 20 students per class.  Preregistration is required.  You may register by calling the club's telephone voicemail (503-266-2453), or send an e-mail to the club at crgc@canby.com, or by filling out and submitting this registration form.  You must tell us in which class(es) you wish to enroll, and the names and telephone numbers of the people who will attend.  Your enrollment will be confirmed by return e-mail or telephone call.
