Work Party #2, 2016

Work party #2 had a more relaxed feeling, maybe partly due to the drizzly morning, than other work parties.  None of the tasks were particulary difficult, but there were quite a few of them, and there was a lot of work actually done.  There were 20 members and 11 guests who showed up for the work party.  Coffee was on at 7:45 AM, and Jim Burdett brought the doughnuts before 8:00 AM (as well as beverages the night before).  Our new lunch was continued - Costco's large hot dogs, hamburger patties with cheese (optional), buns, condiments, and 5 kinds of chips.  Rick Fraser and Richard Phaneuf brought their Traeger and Green Mountain grills, respectively, to cook the meats.

The following are the tasks that were done:

• Started repair of old lawn mower.
• Made new target frames and cleaned up the 50 and 100 yard ranges.
• Picked up spent cases on the 50 and 100 yard ranges.
• Put up plywood and shelving in new range shed on east side of east 50 yard range wall.
• "Trimmed" branches around archery range.  ("Did it the old fashioned way - yanked them until they broke.")
• Picked up unbroken clay targets for the manual trap table.
• Cleaned trap houses and reloaded them with more targets.
• Moved firewood from the pavilion to the wood shed.
• Cleaned gutters on the pavilion roof.
• Spread fertilizer on caretaker lawn, clubhouse lawn, park grass, and trap range grass.
• Installed two handicapped parking signs for spaces just east of the entrance to the clubhouse.
• Weighed out 200lb of scrap metal for member orders.
• Swept gravel from paved road.
• Dug trenches for wiring for the new card readers on traps 3 and 4.
