Work Party #5, 2015

The day started out nicely, but then got hot, and there was a lot of sweating going on as a result of a lot of manual labor.  However, other than some residual sore muscles, no one seemed the worse for wear.  Coffee, doughnuts, lunch (from Ebner's), and beverages were available to participants at 12:30 PM.

The following are the tasks that were done:

• Raked wads around trap houses.
• Cleaned and restocked the trap houses.
• Trimmed grass along the Forest Road, and around the corner on 13th Avenue.
• Picked up lead shot on the ground cloth.
• Reset the ground cloth on the shot berm.
• Bulldozed more dirt on the shot berm, and extended it farther east to traps 5 and 6.
• Smoothed out the bulldozed dirt to reduce the chance of wind getting under the ground cloth and blowing it around.
• Dug out the pine tree and cottonwood tree stumps next to the 200 yard shooting position.
• Cleaned up trash and repaired targets on the 50 and 100 yard ranges.
• Cleared the trench, and spread, compacted, and leveled gravel for the footing for the wall on the west side of the new 65 yard range, and partially completed the foundation on the east side.
• Blew leaves and crud from the clubhouse roof.

Thanks go to Rod Kacalek (skid steer and leveler), Pete Kosky (vibrating plate compactor and laser level), Mitch Magenheimer (track hoe), and Moana Nursery (tractor and box blade) for providing equipment that was used during the work party.  Without it there would have been much less work done, and a few gallons more sweat squeezed out of members.
