Work Party #2, 2014

The second work party of 2014 was yesterday, Saturday, 5/10/14.  Fortunately the rain had quit Friday night (after Chuck McClaugherty had spent over an hour on the mini-excavator), which was fortunate as we were moving gravel around on at the rifle range.  The weather was also excellent for working - sunny and cool.  Coffee, doughnuts, lunch (from Ebner's), and beverages were available to participants.

As usual in the second work party of the year, we are still catching up with winter repairs, and we are starting construction for new projects.  The following are the tasks that were done:

• Replaced the tarp on the west edge of the berm, and added more weight to hold it down.
• Pulled 3 five gallon buckets of lead shot off the tarp.
• Dug out and formed for concrete a pad for the new ADA portable potty next to the rifle range.
• Dug out and formed a shooting pad for the 200 yard shooting position.
• Dug out the pad for the 300 yard shooting position.
• Cleaned and re-stocked trap houses.
• Cleaned trap area.
• Moved and stacked firewood.
• Pruned low limbs near electical lines.

Thanks go to member Pete Kosky and Star Rentals for the mini-excavator used in creating the areas for the three concrete pads.
