Work Party #1, 2011
Saturday, 26 March 2011
The first work party of the year is mostly maintenance to recover from the winter rain and wind. The second purpose is to get a head start on the Spring chores - mowing, fertilizing, and the like. We had a good turn-out, and got a lot done. Lunch was sandwiches from Fisher's Meats, soda, and adult beverages. The work included:
- Cleaned the clubhouse, mopped the floor, wiped the tables, and dusted everthing.
- Cleaned the kitchen and the vent over the stove and grill.
- Picked up and removed trash from the 50 and 100 yard ranges.
- Replaced target frames on the 50 and 100 yard ranges.
- Spliced the cable on the east 50 yard range.
- Removed the dead tree leaning on the west wall of the west 50 yard range.
- Filled potholes in the road and parking areas with gravel.
- Cleaned trap houses, and loaded them with clay targets.
- Cleaned the conex in preparation for another load of targets.
- Picked up loads of dead branches.
- Mowed grass in the park and around the trap pads.
- Spread fertilizer on new lawn in park and front of club house.
- Transplanted the pine tree near club house entrance into the park.
- The old straw and cedar bails along with the rest of the debris were removed from the archery area.
- The old archery targets were moved a few feet forward and can be used until the new carpet backstop is finished.
- The footing for the new concrete pad is ready to be set in place for the concrete pour.
