Work Party #2, 2010

The second work party this year was the victim of a few days of rain prior to the work party, so some of the expected work did not get done, such as painting the range kiosk.  Still, quite a bit of the needed maintenance was completed.  Lunch, as usual after the work party, was sandwiches from Fisher's Meats, soda, and adult beverages.  The work included:

• Removed the large stump on the south side of the driveway, and cut it up for firewood.
• Moved a load of gravel in the conex loading area, and spread the remainder in the pond covering the main parking area.
• Cleaned the bird room.
• Moved two pallets of targets from the conex to the trap houses in preparation for receipt of another semi load of targets.
• Cleaned the trap houses and trap machines.
• Mowed the trap and range areas, and the west side of Molalla Forest Road.
• Filled a good-sized pothole in the trap range.
• Picked up dead wood and trash around the common areas.
• Pick up trash and brass on the 50 and 100 yard ranges.
• Moved benches, left in the rain down range in the 50 yard ranges by inconsiderate members, back under cover on the 50 yard line.
• Braced a cracked 4x4 post supporting part of the 50 yard roof.
• Cut blackberries on the 50 yard ranges.
• Cut blackberries and weeds on the archery range.
• Caulked the clubhouse roof by the furnace chimney that was allowing water to leak into the furnace..

Particular thanks go to Joe Dula for bringing a tractor with backhoe and front-end loader, and to the members who brought their own weed eaters, chain saws, and other tools.
