Work Party #3, 2008

Work party #3 was one of the most well-attended work parties in the last few years.  There were 26 people, members and non-members, who assisted in the outdoor maintenance work.  Several of the participants brought their own tools and equipment for use during the work party.  There were, for instance, 3 tractors and 1 ATV used for mowing, planting, and spraying, and only one of these belonged to CRGC.

The participants started assembling for the work party around 7:45 AM, with coffee and doughnuts supplied while the work to be done was organized.  The tasks included:

• Cleaned the 50 and 100 yard ranges, picked up brass and trash, and swept the shooting lines.
• Weeded flowerbeds around the clubhouse.
• Spread 2 units of barkdust around the flowerbeds and trees.
• Cut weeds on the 50 and 100 yard ranges, and around the archery range.
• Sprayed weeds on the ranges and around the clubhouse.
• Planted 15 pin oaks around the property.
• Mowed the ranges, park, and camping areas.
• Pressure-washed the fence along the south side of the park.
• Repaired the dryer vent in the caretaker's home.
