Work Party #2, 2006
Saturday, 6 May 2006
Work party #2 was one of the best work sessions we have had in a few years. The weather cooperated and the tasks were well organized. We accomplished the following:
- Cleaned up trash on the 50 and 100 yard ranges.
- Repaired the target cable on the 50 yard range, and organized the cable repair equipment.
- Raked wads on trap #1.
- Did maintenance on all of the traps, and cleaned the trap houses.
- Repaired and replaced about 20% of the porch roof, fascia boards, and eaves troughs, all on the north side of the clubhouse.
- Mowed the trap fields.
- Mowed around the 900+ trees planted around the trap area over the last two years.
- Hung a framed wildlife print that was donated by the Oregon United Sporting Dogs Association on the north wall in the clubhouse.
- Found the problem with the springing teal trap, and repaired trap cords.
- Moved firewood and prepared the area at the east end of the clubhouse for a cover over the firewood.
- Leveled the lawn south of the clubhouse, and spread top soil in preparation for replanting. Colvin Sand, in Canby, donated 10 yards of top soil to the club.
- Refaced the impact area of the east 50 yard range.
- Burned trash.
- Swept porch and all six trap pads.
- Put stamps and mailing labels on 492 newsletters.
