NRA Instructor Qualification Training

Wednesday, 23 October 2002

If you have been wishing you could have some firearms training, or if you have been intending to get certified by the NRA to teach one of more of the firearms training courses, but have been putting it off, now is your chance to fulfill your New Year's resolution for 2002. CRGC has been working with the Portland Firearms Training Team (PFTT), and will offer one or more of the following courses at CRGC if enough people (members, family members, or friends) will sign up.

The NRA Basic Firearms Training program began in 1871 and has as its goal to teach the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for the safe ownership and operation of firearms. The NRA Basic courses are the national standard for basic firearms classes in America and in much of the rest of the world. NRA instructor courses have the goal of training experienced shooters with the knowledge, skills, and attitude required to train instructors to organize and conduct NRA Basic Firearms courses. The courses are intensive, often requiring 21 hours over a weekend, and enjoyable. Here is a summary of the classes offered by the PFTT, and which may be taught at CRGC if there is sufficient interest:

If you are interested in any of the above classes e-mail crgc@canby.com or call Doug Phaneuf at 503-651-3035 or leave a message at CRGC at 503-266-2453 with your name, telephone number, e-mail address (if calling and you have one), the training program(s) you are interested in and the best times of the month for you. Doug will reply to you, and will inform you when we have enough people to offer the courses, and the dates on which they will be held.
