Hot Dogs at Sight-in Days

Thursday, 10 September 2009

There will be a new feature at the sight-in days and the swap meet this year, "courtesy" of Oregon City.  As you may have seen or read, a food vendor with a hot dog cart had his vendor's license revoked by Oregon City because OC couldn't figure out the paperwork.  See the story at the KATU news web site.  Julie Postlewait, wife of Dan Postlewait (current president, and the club's caretaker), thought that was a raw deal, and thought that we would all be better off if Mike Trauth would bring his cart to CRGC and sell his hot dogs during sight-in days.  There was immediate support for the idea, and Julie made the arrangements.

The hot dog cart is planned to be at CRGC all four sight-in days.  Mr Trauth says that he sells two kinds of hot dogs.  The regular all-meat hot dog goes for $2.00 with all the fixings, and he also will add soda or water, and chips for another $1.50.  The other hot dog is called a "Chicago Red Hot", which is a mildly spicy quarter-pound hot dog that is 7 inches long, and will cost $3.50, or $5.00 with soda or water, and chips.

So now there are two reasons for coming to CRGC:  to make sure your firearms are ready for hunting, and to get some lunch or a snack.  Some of us keep our firearms sighted-in, so we'll just be there to chow down and watch everyone else.
