CRGC Board Approves Five Stand Installation

Tuesday, 18 October 2005

At the monthly board meeting on Monday, 17 October 2005, the CRGC board approved purchase and installation of equipment for five stand trap shooting.  The acquisition and installation will begin in January 2006.

Five stand is very similar to sporting clays in that a variety of targets are thrown.  No two five stand configurations are exactly alike.  The shooter moves between five different "stands" or stations to shoot at 25 or more targets.  There are usually between six and eight trap machines that throw different sizes and types of targets in various combinations and at various angles.  There is usually a menu card that may provide the shooter with information about the sequence or type of targets in that particular five stand configuration.  Five stand is a good way to get a sporting clays experience in a small area with very little walking.

The cost per round of 25 targets is expected to be $4.00 for members and $5.00 for non-members.  For more information call Dan Stevens at 503-632-6978, or Richard Phaneuf at 503-651-3035, or send either of them an e-mail for more information.  Both Dan and Richard can also be found at the clubhouse any Tuesday or Thursday evening during the open trap shooting.  More information will also be posted on this web site as it becomes available.  For more information about five stand rules, see the National Sporting Clays Association web site.
